North Carolina Health Plans ? What To Choose

When it comes to deciding which North Carolina health plans to choose your options can seem to be endless but you should first understand the two most popular choices. Which plan type is best for your family depends on what you are trying to accomplish and what your needs are.

Most traditional PPO plans have deductibles that have to be met first and co-insurance levels after that until you reach your out of pocket maximum. The number of deductibles and co-insurance levels will vary by carrier but it is common for family plans to have a maximum of two deductibles and two co-insurance limits per calendar year. Some health insurance carriers offer doctor office visits and prescription drugs for a preset copayment without having to first meet your deductible. These copayments would be for routine office visits, preventative care, and generic and brand name drugs. Each carrier is different on how their particular plan operates so it is important to understand what is and is not covered with the copayment.

Another type of North Carolina health plans that are becoming more popular are High Deductible Health Plans
